Date of Hike: 12/22/2012
Trail Conditions: 1-4 inches of snow from bottom to top, some mud between Paradise Lane and the AT. Should all ice up in the next couple of days. A couple of downed trees but they were easily avoided
Special Equipment Required: No snowshoes or crampons needed but for CT, more winter clothing than you might have thought. High 20's up high with a steady wind in the teens with gusts in the 25-35 MPH range making the wind-chill in the single digits. Stream crossings were a little higher than normal due to Friday's rain.
Comments: Optional - The first full day of winter really felt like winter. While most of CT remains green or brown the area around Bear is white. A nice start to the winter hiking season.
