I found a new trail system on Beech Hill in Dublin. Apparently a conservation easement was acquired on the former rehab hospital property and new trails built to connect to the existing network.

We parked at the town line on New Harrisville/Dublin Road where there was a kiosk so new it didn't have a map yet. All the trails are marked with blue diamonds and the signs aren't up yet, so it's easy to walk past a junction when you don't know where to expect one. The R fork which may be called the Town Line Trail follows an old road uphill, passing a connector L from the East Face Trail which is how we got there. At a T intersection, we went L on an old carriage road which apparently goes R to Morse Rd. There is extensive sidehill work near the top of the ridge, and a side trail R goes down to Old Harrisville Rd. A side trail L leads to Eagle Rocks, a fine viewpoint and possible highpoint.

A connector trail not shown on the map leads to another bump variously called "Summit" and "South Viewpoint". Beyond, the Zig Zag Trail descends via a series of meanders some of which are too level to be called switchbacks to a kiosk at the end of the first switchback on the old hospital road. If the gate is removed so you could park here, this would be a good starting point for those only heading for the summit. There was actually a map at this kiosk although it didn't show all the trails, if this map is online I couldn't find it. The East Face Trail starts a little way back up the Zig Zag and runs on sidehill with minor ups across the former rope tow to the Town Line Trail passing a connector to the parking lot.

Is it still there?

Nope, that was the Dublin school tow Dublin Tow

Thanks for the info about Beech Hill. I'll have to check it out as its in my neck of the woods!

Well, the shack is still there, and the drum, and the rope (on the ground) but as mentioned it ceased operation long before the map was made

The trails haven't been cleared in a long time and are barely noticeable, I suppose you could walk up for some glade skiing :)
