Date of Hike: Sunday, October 9th
Trails: The Brothers, Slide Mountain Brook Trail, Orebed Brook Trail, ADK Range Trail, Sawteeth-Pyramid-Gothics Trail, Scenic Trail.
Trail Conditions: Brothers and Slide Mountain Brook Trail are in great shape. The Orebed Brook Trail is in ok shape, the ice melted from the slide and the trail so until it gets cold again it's not a problem just your usual wet and slippery stuff in spots. Trail over to Gothics, Pyramid, and Sawteeth are fine. The Scenic Trail down to Lower Ausable Lake is in good shape with a minor blowdown or two.
Comments: Along with road walks this made for a very fun and long loop with phenomenal views. Big Slide was my 45th and Sawteeth was my 46th peak and I couldn't have asked for a better day. It has been so much fun hiking in the ADK's in the late spring, mid summer, then in the beginning of the fall, the foliage was the best I've ever seen! click for report and pics
