Trail dry and crowded (Garden lot full at 6 am but shuttle from Marcy field came regularly). Damp and muddy spots on several of the steep slabs. These areas have walk arounds and much of the steeper parts are experiencing erosion.
No special equipment needed (other than sunscreen).
Opted to do the loop hike today, going up the Brothers and down toward JB Lodge, then back to the Garden. The trail is confusing around the brook crossing. The markers helped but also look for surveying tape and a cairn. Beautiful weather and views. Summit was very crowded as were the Brothers but our loop back was quite peaceful.
