I'm thinking of getting over to the sleepers via south tripyramid slide from livermore in WV. I was thinking of bringing my hybrid bike..with beefed up tires on it, for the initial journey in on livermore road/trail. Number one, does this disqualify me at all on an official basis of bagging the sleepers, because it's not 100% on foot? And secondly, will a hybrid sufficiently negotiate Livermore Rd(it's been awhile since i've been here) vs an all out mountain bike which i don't own? any and all input on other routes accepted, i have done tri's and whiteface, and assume Downes Brook may have high water issues...thanks in advance..ctsparrow

You could take a Big Wheel up the Livermore Road, it's not a difficult ride. But as PI said, that means you can't count it for the AMC lists.

I'm not certain if you need a pass from the WV outdoor center to ride on the Livermore Trail or not, but I would check.

Next time I'm bringing my bike

When we did the Tripyramids a couple years ago, for some reason the walk out on Livermore was much longer than the walk in. I could not stop thinking about riding down and out, just one long glorious coast back to the parking lot.

Too bad about those annoying rules for peakbagging, but them's the rules.

But of course, there is no rule against fun!

No you don't need a pass to use Livermore.

Hybrid bikes count for Tripyramids, as long as you bike down North Tripyramid Slide - blind-folded

Make sure the blind-fold is not cotton, though - everyone knows cotton kills on contact !
