I expected someone to post a report on Carter Dome, there were so many people coming and going on Saturday. Conversely, we didn't encounter a single person the whole day while hiking Tom and Field on Friday.

Pat and I have really been re-energized by these hikes, and by coming within 100 yards of Pierce on Thursday, but the blowing wind, fog, and snow made us prudently turn back. We'd gotten away from winter hiking, what with skiing and getting too lazy to drive long distances.

Now we're thinking we might as well go for the winter 48, and Leo's getting old enough to go along.

There are a few pics here, we were so lucky to have two glorious clear days:

Audrey, you guys certainly did have two glorious clear days which is shown by the awesome photos that you got.
Your photo of Mt. Hight from Carter Dome provides a very good sense of how really high up you are! And, that's a great photo taken from Field showing peaks in the Presidentials all neatly aligned.

Thanks for posting!
