PLEASE NOTE: This report has been amended via a Trip Report filed in the Trip Reports Forum.
Date Hiked: 13-Jan-2008
Conditions: If the predicted snow happens tomorrow, then trail conditions will of course change. But as of today, all the above trails were generally in good shape. No significant blow-downs, and no troublesome brook crossings.
Special Equipment Needed: As of today, snowshoes were quite helpful for added traction on the rain-frozen snow.
Comments: This 5 mile round-trip trek is worth considering if you’re in need of a short mellow hike, either for yourself, or for someone you’re hiking with. The Bog Ledge viewpoint along the Cliffway provides a good (but limited) view into King Ravine and surrounding peaks. Also, along the way, you pass by Cold Brook Fall which is quite picturesque.
