4/5/09 trail conditions; hard packed in the morning, with post holes off monorail. afternoon trail turned into soft mush with numerous slips and slides, even with snow shoes. bondcliff trail has bare ground at start with running water to hop around . the top of the trail still has a good 5 feet of snow. river crossings were wet. rocks under fast moving water.. last snow bridge still fine.
equipment; micro spikes on the way up till1/2 mile till top. soft snow clumping spikes, switched to ss. on the way down kept on ss till lincoln woods. bare booted the rest.
a long walk only to get fogged in at the top with lots of wind. saw no one all day. lots of moose post holes on all the trails. nice southern views before summit. it was nice to see bare ground,, go spring...
