Lincoln Woods Trail, Bondcliff Trail
The LW trail was open despite the reconstruction of a short washed out segment. It will be closed week days, open weekends. We did the first 4.7 miles to the old Camp 16 in 1 hr 45 min. Some mud after heavy rain was not a surprise. No bugs. The trail is a highway the first 3 miles and a flat walk in the woods the next 1.7. There were muddy spots on the Bondcliff Trail but nothing major and no quicksand boot suckers. No blowdowns or blockages. Stream crossings were rock hops but 2 crossings of Black Brook required caution. The weather was perfect, blue skies and 70s. The summit was so glorious we stayed for an hour.
Bondcliff is the number one spot in the Whites for me. 360 degree views. Broad flat open summit with dramatic cliffs.
