and Skookumchuck trails, Dec. 19-21
A few blowdowns but trails generally in good condition. Bondcliff is bare and was the only part of the trip where we didn't use snowshoes, though low on the Skookumchuck there is not much snow.
This was an attempt at a Pemi loop, starting from Lincoln Woods, with nights spent at Guyot and Garfield Ridge shelters. Plan was for a third night out below Little Haystack then back to Lincoln Woods, but winds on the North Peak of Lafayette forced us down the Skookumchuck and we hitched back to Lincoln and got a shuttle ride to Lincoln Woods instead. What I wouldn't give for a way to prevent rime on goggles!
Didn't see a soul for three days on the trails. Great fun and an excellent group!
