Despite the forecast, a small group of us decided to go through with our plans for this traverse on Sunday. The group consisted of Jeff (known to some VFTT-ers), Pete, Mikkel, his girlfriend Margit who had just arrived from Denmark the night before (what a good sport!) and me.

It was pretty soupy for the trip up to Bondcliff and then Bond. Enjoyed a nice leisurely lunch on Bond, complete with Jeff's first attempt to make mountain panini (a work in progress, for sure :) ). After we packed up and headed on toward West Bond, the skies began to clear. Came across a group headed to Guyot for the night. Besides this group of about 7, only saw one other group of hikers all day.

Great views from W. Bond, which continued for the rest of our time up on the ridge. Due to a late start and long lunch we had to forego a visit to Zealand. Enjoyed a snack and more views from North Twin...and then watched the foul weather approach. We made it down about a quarter mile before the rains hit. It was a wet trip out, but we made good time. Water crossings proved to be more manageable than they first appeared.

A great day out with a fantastic group. Pictures here. Bonds/Twins pics

You got some good mileage in over the weekend :)

Keep them beautiful pix coming......

Sounds like you are gearing up for a Pressie Traverse and Pemi-loop etc......or maybe even an Owl's Head trip via Lincoln Slide ;)

Glad the skies cleared for you to see the views!

Sounds like a wet hike out.....but still a great day!
