When: Monday, Dec 19th
Route: thruhike up Robert Brook trail south on the South Taconic trail over Brace and South Brace and then down to Quarry Hill Road. Steep!!!!
I parked at the Alander mtn trailhead on Under Mtn road in Copake. Then up to the ridge and the S. Taconic trail to the end on Quarry Hill Road and a road walk back to my car.
Microspikes carried but never needed or used. Westerly winds on the ridge but otherwise, a nice mild monday. Not much snow out there, just a little ice. Glad I had the microspikes cause the descent of S. Brace is pretty steep and might get icy in winter which hasn't arrived here yet..
