Parked on the forest service road about 1.25 mile down where there's a berm blocking the road. ~45 min walk to the trailhead. I was pleasantly surprised a single skiier had been up the trail to the LT junction making trailbreaking a little easier. Down low the snow was consolidating a lot making travel nice and easy but as I got closer to the LT I was breaking through shin deep wet snow and occasionally knee deep drifts. Relatively easy navigation down into the col to the shelter, but was on and off route a lot going up to Wilson. I only went through one thick stretch but it could have been avoided by staying a bit more to the climbers right where the woods were more open (but the trail does sneak through some very small openings in the brush). On the way down Skylight I avoided a bunch of the switchbacks by bushwhacking straight downhill in case there's some confusion as to the route.
