A wonderful day in the north country. As mentioned by another hiker, winter is still in full force. Left the trailhead on Saturday morning at 7:30. Broke trail all the way to Greenleaf. Snowshoes! A good 4 to 5 feet above 3,000 ft. Above treeline, crampons were the way to go. Tried to stay on the leeward side as often as possible and the surfaces there are bullitproof in spots. Hard, cold, NW wind required full face protection. Great views across the wilderness.
Falling Waters trail was beautiful. The falls are starting to show through.
Beers were yummy back at the car.
