Started at 10:30 from the west side near Pilot Knob. The weather was partly cloudy with a gradual increase in sun, and temps in the low 30's.
There were lots of people out, some carrying nothing but a jacket. The hike starts out fairly mellow, but gradually increases in steepness. The trail was 99% hard packed, but we wore snowshoes for traction. Some people were bare booting, others were wearing micro-spikes, a few were in snow shoes.
There was a large area where the snow fleas were out.
At the top, there is a large open area, and we could see the views opening up. At the summit, we had great views of the Lake and the mountains to the West.
We were back down by 2:15. 6.6 miles and 2000' of climbing make this a nice moderate climb.
