Date Hiked: April 25, 2008
Special Equipment: None, I was able to negotiate the trail in approach shoes.
Trail Conditions:
85% of the trail is bone dry and cleared, 12% of the trail is wet and muddy and the remaining 3% is filled with downed branches and a few larger trees across the trail.
Comments: The bugs are starting to emerge, especially the black flies.
When I got down to the small parking turnout, there was a very large group of folks and vehicles parked. It turns out they were from the North East Sasquatch Researchers Association and are investigating reported sightings.
I think they are going to be around this weekend.
For those hikers wanting to hike Sleeping Beauty Mountain, be aware that the motorized access road to Dacy Clearing from the Hogtown parking lot is closed, so calculate the extra hike time to Dacy Clearing instead of driving there.
