Trail Conditions: A few inches of fresh snow over packed snow. Snow was a couple feet deep as we neared the higher elevation. At times it was helpful to be familiar with the trail as blazes seemed spare and the woods open. We broke trail for the last two miles or so.

Special Equipment Required: Snowshoes. Crampons if taking the .2 mile blazed spur to the summit from the shelter. We used the ski trail and kept our snowshoes on. Parts here were icy, requiring care and kicking in.

Comments: Beautiful scenery in Vermont's forest. The pristine snow covering open woods and icy-glazed spruce topped mountains not too distant mountains provided a magnificent view while climbing. Excellent day.
