conditions: snow free. a few patches in the woods. a fair number of blowdowns that can be stepped over. muddy down low on unknown pond.
equipment: basically a summer pack with a bit extra. t-shirt and shorts except for summit stay on horn which required wind protection due to some decent wind gusts.
comments: the day i was waiting for to finally hit the horn. fantastic views to the south and into vermont and maine. a really remarkable day with perfect temps and a wind to keep you cool. the wmnf campsite at unknown pond was really impressive. more moose droppings than i could ever imagine from the trailhead all the way to just below the highest summit rock at the horn. moose must like those views too. a sanity saving day.
