Anyone ever bushwack Sugarloaf from the North, Northeast?
Basically straight into the woods at the end of the Roaring Kill Trail.
Looking to avoid Mink Hollow and Pecoy Notch.
Hear the Devil's Path is quite icy. I know it's all icy but at least this bushwack seems to be along less-steep grades.
Plan on wearing crampons.
Thx.

Let us know how you make out. I've been looking at the same 'whack for quite a while, made even more attractive by this year's ice on the trails on both sides of S'loaf.

You might want to post on adkhighpeaks.com I think some folks have taken the ridge directly to Sugarloaf from the northern Mink Hollow before...

OK, thanks Jay...will look.
Not a member there.

I get the feeling from google satellite that the ridge and peak is covered in balsams. Ouch.
