I think its a silver bordered fritillary . I saw one very similar on Mt. Waternomee a couple weeks ago.

no problem. I'm pretty sure thats it, but there are others that are similar. If you go to the home page of that link, you can search by several different criteria. Its a fun site, and very well organized. Moths and Butterflies are fun! I can be on my very own wildlife expedition while riding my mower in my own back yard! I have hay fields, hemlock forest, mixed hardwoods, and a wetland surrounding my house, so I get a pretty diverse cross section of wildlife passing through....
