Date of Hike: Wed. 02-03-10
Trails: 19 Mile Bk., Carter Dome Tr., Carter Moriah Tr., North Carter Tr., Imp Tr., Joe Dodge cutoff.
19 Mile Brook Trail and Carter Dome Trail were hard packed all the way to Zeta Pass. A few blow downs along the way with half frozen water crossings.
From Zeta Pass to the Dome the trail was filled in but solid underneath. Easy breaking to the summit. From Zeta all the way to North Carter Trail the trail was pretty much the same. Some blow downs along the way.
The North Carter and Imp Trails were packed solid. The Imp had quite a bit of ice in the drainage areas.
All trails are nicely packed.
Micro-spikes and bare boots to Zeta. From Zeta snowshoes for the duration of the hike. Could be bare booted.
