York Pond Road off of Rt. 110 somewhat icy and treacherous after entering the National Forest...3 or 4 vehicles at most can park at York Pond Trailhead and that's icy too, spinning wheels to get out...Unknown Pond Trailhead much bigger, both plowed out of course.
Trails: York Pond, Bunnell Notch, Klkenny Ridge: all trails had a snowshoe trench, some spots drifted in..was able to microspike up to the Mt. Cabot Trail (no longer maintained), snowshoes needed from there...kept them on for the return trip. KRT towards Terrace Mt. not broken out...KRT towards the Bulge and Horn, deep snow with a very old track. Nice view day, needed Cabot's view in winter conditions and did get them...had to layer more than this past Tuesday, the wind chill was worse today....see what the next day or two brings weather wise!! all water crossings still bridged or frozen over...also ski track(s) going up York Pond Trail upon my return and 1 other vehicle at the trailhead
