trails: burrows trail, long trail
conditions: a nice packed track the whole way. a couple spots where ice is starting to peek through on both trails, but insignificant at this point. bare rock and crusty snow around the summit. there is one small brook open down low on burrows trail that was easily stepped across.
equipment: i wore snowshoes the whole hike. light traction probably would have worked fine most of the way as well.
comments: happy to sneak this one in before the predicted weather descended. the cloud ceiling kept creeping lower, but there were great views from the summit to the other 4k peaks of vermont and the high peaks of the adirondacks. windy on the summit proper, but the route was sheltered the rest of the way. nice to be out.
