Trail is crusty up to meadow; can be barebooted, but light traction helpful. Above meadow there is increasing ice to totally ice-covered summit; traction mandatory!
[Much the same on Mt Hunger 3/18.]
Strongly recommend crampons or microspikes, or at least snowshoes to reach summits.
Both days clear with only slight haze. Views excellent of individual features/ peaks ADK's, Lake C, Whites including Pres, Franconia, Cabots, etc.
Brilliant sun makes for brilliant days augmented by 'full winter' effect of ice-encrusted trees above ~300'.
