Camping at the Bottom of King Ravine

In the area at the bottom of King Ravine just as you are about to hit the Subway, there is that flat area. As my memory recalls there is still a ways to start the real climb up the headwall. If there was an avalanche, do you think it would go this far down. I am trying to figure out a good place to camp for an asault on Great Gully Trail and I thought that would be a great place to launch from. Either this or alittle ways below this there is that big rockslab right beside the trail that could totaly fit a tent. Any thoughts or ideas?
