Can sunspots and Acorns be wrong???

I was thinking about the acorn thing as I slipped and slid on many this past W/E on the Wilderness Trail.

Yeah, one thing the Almanac said was below average temps in the Northeast and below average snowfall which in some ways is OK with me. I say that not because I don't love snow, which I do, but because when you generally have a very snow winter, it can be warmer as well and prone to that annoying melting and re-freezing which I hate. I would rather have a consistant snow cover from early Dec through April with no thaws!! Also, colder winters with many strong cold fronts will mean more snow for places like Mount Washington, who do better with upper level systems then low level moisture.
