canister stoves

Anyone know of a DEC reg prohibiting the use of canister type stoves in the Adirondacks. A local outdoor retailer in the Buffalo area seems to be certan that such a reg is in place

Never heard of a reg. even faintly similar to that. Since we both work at Buffalo area outdoor retailers, it sort of narrows down the field, eh? Provincial parks discourage the use of disposable fuel canisters, such as 1-lb. propane bottles, but even those are not banned - maybe he's just confused (or dis-oren-tated).

I'm opening a canned sardine store at the Loj parking lot. No stoves allowed, all you are allowed to eat in the eastern high peaks is now Sardines.

I have a feeling, somebody is mistaken, either that or the White Gas stove lobby has gotten out of hand!
