Trail dry for a mile, then increasing snow among the rocks and some ice. Section between the side path to the outlook and the Rim Trail has some awful, unavoidable muddy sections. Steeps up cone have some snow, not bad.
We carried Microspike ST's but managed without them. Poles a big help negotiating the muddy stretches (even with one hand in a cast..).
Beautiful clouds and reasonable temperatures made for a nice hike. Great to hike with Sarah again!
