From the start, trail had a crust which was unforgiving to steps off the packed portion and ample snow cover except among the bare rocks on the final approach to the summit. A couple of icy sections in those upper reaches, as well. No blowdowns and no stream crossings.
We wore snowshoes up to the rocky section on the ascent but got away with just traction on the descent with an infrequent post hole and its accompanying profanity. If the surface softens due to the predicted weather, snowshoes will likely be required.
Lovely, warm day. Glade skiing area has had significant additional clearing which seems to have enhanced views there.
