Cannon via Kinsman Ridge from Tramway Parking Lot
Date hiked: 1/13/08
Trail conditions: Hardpacked snow with crust on top for the entire length. Small patches of ice, particularly between east and main peak on exposed rock section.
Equipment required: Traction devices mandatory. Microspikes will get you partway but full crampons desirable when passing through open areas of Kinsman Glade. Ice axe strongly recommended in case you slip.
Comments: Gorgeous day. Need for precise footing made short, steep trail quite a workout. Stellar views. Full trip report here.
