Special Equipment: I used snowshoes on Kinsman Ridge from Lonesome Lake until things got unbearably icy/steep up the backside of Cannon and then switched to crampons until the hi-cannon junction, then snowshoes the rest up and down via Hi-cannon.

Comments: I had intended to take Hi-Cannon up and down. Somehow, on the way up, it bridged back to the Lonesome Lake trail (oh well!). I then broke trail (maybe 4-5" deep, but no trail visible) up the Lonesome Lake tr. to Kinsman Ridge, to the summit, and back down some of Hi-Cannon. The ladders were dicy!!!! On the way down, I lost the Hi-Cannon trail at the knoll near the Dodge Cutoff (only the occasional posthole was still visible) and decided to set my compass for a b/w back to the Lonesome Lake trail when I again saw the occasional posthole leading back to Lonesome Lake - from there it was of course easy back to the parking lot. NOTE: there are now a few snowshoe circles and wanderings that lead nowhere to/from the Hi-Cannon trail.

Views were awesome!!!!
