Trail Conditions: Obvious signs of previous trail use. Trail had a fresh 6-8 inch layer of powder on it from the get go. Lots of blow downs, some tricky to get around. Trail gets a bit confusing to follow near the lower ski trail. Where the ski trail/hiking trail merge trail was unbroken to the junction to go left towards cannon cliffs, or stay right towards Cannon Ski area. Trail was unbroken with about 8-12 inches of snow, with thigh deep snow drifts. Following the trail is easy going until nearing the summit cone. From there it's easier to shoot right and come out near the top of one of the ski trails/ the tram station. From the tram station it was a quick slog in knee to thigh deep snow to the actual summit. Glissaded down the black diamonds to get back to the car.

Special Equipment Required: Snowshoes were essential. If you have the MSR denali's with the ascent clips, use 'em! it's steep going from the start up north kins.

Comments: Broke trail all day, did my best to pack down deep spots. Definitely not a packed out trail, maybe after the weekend the trail will become more consolidated.

Best,
Sean
