Trail to boulder at 1 mile broken out and easy to follow with snowshoes. Depth of snow put us in the branches so new snow had to be knocked off which slowed us down. After the junction with the Link at 1.1 miles we lost the trail for a few hundred yards but eventually came back to it. After the first Cap I switched to crampons and my partner barebooted until we returned to the same spot. Full crampons turned out to be overkill, as there was very little ice and many rocks. No blowdowns or stream crossings. We were unsuccessful on the descent in our effort to find the trail we'd missed on ascent so there is a fork in the path that rejoins after a few hundred yards. The two of us pulled sleds up the snowmobile trail(Jefferson Notch Rd) from the Base Station Rd.
