Just a quick post tooting our horn about all the great work Cardigan Volunteer Trail Crews did this weekend brushing and grooming the ski trails on Mt Cardigan this past weekend. Saturday proved to be a big experiment in rain gear testing. Here's a picture of our trail crew taking a snack break while working on Duke's Ski Trail. This Robert and Gil enjoying a snack in the rain.
Gil, his sons Charles and Robert, and my son David.
Sunday was much better. We returned to the Dukes Trail and finished brushing the entire upper trail. It is now in great shape. Picture these runs with nice deep powder!!! This is beginning of a steep S-shaped run. It begins with this steep left hand turn.
Now you're in the turn. Hold that edge!
Now there's a bit of a straight away where trail turns to the right. Don't hit Robert!
Now start your turn to the right.
Watch our for the brook!
Anyway we had great turnout of 60 volunteers for this annual work weekend. We got a great deal of work done in spite of the weather and had some fun besides. Including a costume party, pumkin carving, and great food! Ski trails are in great shape! All you BC skiers come check out these trails.
