Trail well-packed-out. Quite icy and slippery, and with some deep slush pockets. Upper part on the exposed summit rocks was actually relatively easy and mostly free of ice and snow. Summit was lovely and mild on New Year's Day.
Equipment: Our group just used poles for aid in balance, and I would say that these were more or less essential, especially coming back down. Light traction underfoot would have been somewhat helpful - and should be very helpful now that the terrain has re-frozen.
