Was able to avoid the rain and thunderstorms yesterday by starting at 10:30am on the Caribou trail. Nice and meandering trail, almost thought it would ski well in the winter. Not too many mosquitoes if you keep moving. At the 3 trail junction we turned right to continue up on Mud Brook trail, now steeper and soon we found ourselves on top of Caribou mountain. The whole 'alpine' circumference could use a bucket of yellow paint to revitalize the yellow blazes. Thankfully some miniature cairns made the trailfinding easier. The rest of Mud Brook trail went steeply down only to turn into almost level trail for the a few miles. Brook crossings were easy. Nice day out there.
