sorry if this may be redundent. have been out of the loop for a bit.
bottom line is that i drive a corolla and i'm wondering how passable the cvr is for that type of vehicle this year. any info is much appreciated.

I drove CVR in a Corolla in early May at the beginning of mudseason 1.5 miles up (after that it was all snow).

I would hazard a guess that the road is drivable in your car, just keep an eye out for the eroded abutments on the sketchy bridges.
 
Depends how far you go. To the A.T. is feasible, but forget about trying to reach the pond.
 
I did that road all the way to the fork last August. I have an audi wagon with adjustable clearance and I had it all the way up. There are some big rocks sticking out in the road after the AT crossing that could be a problem.

The road itself is find, but the ruts near the bridges can swallow a small car. I'm sure they are probably worse now, after winter. But if they've been filled, you should be fine.
