Sawyer rd well packed by snowmobiles, barebootable. The trail is pretty choppy down low with somewhat packed powder. Pick your poison for traction. The trail is only broken out via the old trail by the beaver pond which is more direct, glad to see people are using that route in winter. I switched to snowshoes at the start of the long rising traverse. Trail became increasingly drifted in and shortly after the end of the traverse I broke trail from boot to mid shin deep snow for most of the remaining climb. Some deep drifts en route to the summit but the light powder was easy work. Wasn't surprised to not run into anybody with a late afternoon start but it looks like I was the only person out on carrigain today based on the drifts.
