Hiked Mt Carrigain via the usual route today. The snow and ice mentioned in recent reports is nearly gone. No traction necessary at all. Only 3 or 4 very small patches of ice and no snow. 55-60 degrees and sunny made for an awesome day.
New trail section at start of hike is awesome and skips those pesky water crossings.
Trail notes: some brushing could be helpful for winter users. There are a few above the head blowdowns that may be annoying in winter if snowpack gets high enough. A few more blazes would be helpful on the first mile since woods are not thick and it could be confusing in winter.
