First day of the year hiking in shorts and a t-shirt (started at noon on the sun-baked sauna that is Sawyer River Rd). Wore microspikes the whole way. Snow a bit mushy on the road but nice once I got into the woods. The couple of sunny spots on the trail high up on the mountain were pretty soft and I punched through crossing those little sections, sorry bout that. Nice views despite the incoming weather from the tower but I didn't hang out long since the sun was behind the clouds in the afternoon and it was a bit chilly in shorts/tee. Perfect wet snow conditions for a very fast descent.
Jackson
Jackson was a packed highway as expected, trail was in great shape. I wore microspikes the whole way and with the afternoon sun behind the clouds the trail remained pretty firm which made for a fast climb.
