Trail Conditions: The trail has not been heavily used, though there has been some traffic on it after the heavy snows of several weeks ago. I went out and back the same route and helped pack it out some more. It's in pretty decent shape.
Due to the depth of the snow, there are a lot of branches to deal with, particularly on the last mile or so. It is so dense and thick, it's more like a bushwhack than a trail. Allow extra time, pack an extra Pop Tart, and leave your good shell at home.
Special Equipment Required: Snowshoes all the way.
Comments: The first stream crossing near the trailhead is very dicey. The best bet is to bushwhack up the south side of the stream from the road. It's a short and easy 'whack and avoids the potential for an unpleasant experience at the crossing. The second and third stream crossings are easy.
