Carter Dome, Mt. Hight via Nineteen Mile Brook, Carter-Moriah, Zeta Pass, Carter Dome trails. June 22, 2013.
Trail was dry with the usual wet around run-off areas; one hop-over blow down on Carter-Moriah trail just before the summit of Carter Dome. Intermittent rain changed trail conditions and slowed our descent. Water crossing on Nineteen Mile Brook wasn't an issue going up but took a bit more thought when we returned.
No special equipment needed.
Did this hike counter clockwise, going up the steeps to Carter Dome and down the steeps after Mt. Hight. First time on Mt. Hight and thrilled the rains didn't come until after we summitted allowing us to enjoy the 360° views, though a gray cloud seemed to follow us on the ridge. Carter Dome trail is lush with ferns right now and mist was rising from the brook as the rains came and went.
