A group of six spent the weekend at Carter Notch Hut, hiked in Friday night on 19 mile brook trail, well packed out & bare bootable but we all used crampons/snowshoes. On Saturday we hiked up Carter-Moriah Trail, semi-packed with a few inches of fresh snow on top-everyone used crampons on the steep sections & switched to snowshoes on the ridge where there were some deep drifts. Crystal clear day on top with great views above the clouds. After summiting South Carter we descended via Carter Dome Trail (packed out) & back up 19 mile brook trail to hut. We considered Wildcat on Sunday morning but decided against it due to reports of an icy and unbroken slide section.
