Trail conditions: 19 Mile Brook a walk in the park with a few muddy spots..lots of water in the brook so the waterfalls etc were very nice..Carter Dome trail in excellent shape..winter blowdowns cleared away..brook crossings no problem..there is some pretty good mud between Mt Hight and Carter Dome on the Carter Moriah section..
Equipment: Some were bugged by bugs ..black flies mostly..so deet was in use today..pretty muggy..pole helpful in spots
remarks...While we were a bit concerned about rain and winds in the forecast they never materialized
and we enjoyed a dry if muggy day.. Trail conditions were pretty much excellent considering recent wet spell and we enjoyed good views from both the outlooks on carter Dome and the wide sweeping panorama on Mt Hight..there were plenty of forboding clouds but rain gear stayed in the packs...some snow remains in Tuckerman's and on the shoulder of Jefferson....very nice day in the mountains with OTHH
