Conditions: Muddy as expected until around 4K' near the ridge. Tons of snow still high but pretty solid. I carried my snowshoes and was glad I did, tho I never put them on. If it had warmed up at all, I would have wanted them. Cheap insurance!
Special Equipment: Layers for the wind. I wore the waterproof winter boots, which worked well still.
Comments: Nice views of the presies and all around, esp from Mt Hight. On sections of Carter-Moriah Trail from Zeta pass to S carter, there was a solid minefield of fresh bear scat-- dozens and dozens of piles. Again, I was glad I had the waterproof winter boots! What goes on there????
