Date of Hike: 2009.09.26

Trail Conditions:
Wild River Trail - No issues. It's a wide woods road for much of the 2.7 miles I hiked.
Black Angel Trail - a few easy to bypass blowdows, otherwise good shape with little mud. Old Spider Bridge crossing is easy.
Carter Moriah Trail - In great shape all the way from Carter Dome to Moriah Brook Trail.
Moriah Brook Trail - Lots of mud. The multitude of crossings are mostly really easy. Trail was difficult to follow in a couple of locations. Stay near the brook when in doubt.

Special Equipment Required:
Hat and gloves early in the morning. Poles were very helpful on the crossings.

Comments: Great hike on a beautiful day. The views were spectacular from Carter Dome, Mt. Hight and the viewpoints around Middle Carter. This is a long walk to bag the Carters (20.5 miles) but it's a great way to get hours of solitude on busy Saturday.
