Trails: 19 Mile Brook, Carter Moriah Trail
Conditions/Equipment: A couple of inches of fresh snow from the night before, I used snowshoe's virtually the whole day though they were not needed on 19 Mile Brook - it looked like someone had hiked down from hut without them. I broke trail from Carter Hut to Carter Dome and continued to do so until I passed a couple that had just come down from South Carter. Very pleasant day to hike, high 20's fresh snow, no wind. Put the crampons on coming off Carter Dome. No one had hiked over the Mt. Hight pass as of 2.30 pm Monday - cloudy with no views.

Trails: Wildcat Ridge Tr, 19 Mile Brook
Conditions/Equipment: Only one other set of tracks heading up Wildcat from the hut, but once I got to Wildcat, the trail was well tracked between Wildcat and Wildcat D. I met Bill and Diane on the trail and learned a few things talking to them. Overall trail was in great condition. A lot of snow on the trees has caused the branches to hang which required me (6'2") to do a lot of leaning over. Tom, caretaker at Carter Hut, said he's noticed this a lot more in the last week. I'd expect it to only get worse after today's wet heavy snow.
