Beautiful day for a hike. The trail was in great shape. Mostly it was quite dry, especially the bare rock faces you occasionally encounter. There was a little snow left on the trail just before the Cascade-Porter fork. Some bugs were out but generally not biting - really not a problem. Ran into a group of 14 hikers coming down just as I reached the summit and several other pairs of hikers. It was a little breezy at the top but overall very comfortable in the sun. My son Dan also did Porter and reported that trail had more snow and was slower going than the main trail to Cascade.
