This was an excellent snowshoe bushwhack to the remote summit of Catamount Mt (at 2300', it is the highest point in the general vicinity).
Started from Northern Tongue Mt trailhead parking lot on 9N, and proceded North . The route ascended Bloomer Mt through the notch, then N along a streambed to the souther flank of Catamount. Open woods all the way!
Snow conditions were fine for snowshoeing, just a little crust.
Interesting Beaver activity on a the stream.
Summit is very pronounced and open, affording fine views N and W.
