Parked at "hairpin turn" and hiked a loop out to Lincoln Woods via Hancock Notch Trail, Cedar Brook Trail and Pemi East Side Trail and Pine Island Trail. Along the way, from the HOL on Cedar Brook Trail, we bushwhacked to East Hitchcock.
Trail Conditions: The trails were largely in really good shape. Evidence of Hurricane Irene still lingers. Trails sometimes very wet and muddy in places, but that's to be expected in such remote sections. The Cedar Brook Trail was in very good shape for trail that does not get a lot of use. No blowdowns to speak of... trails clear.
Comments: This was about a 15 mile hike including the whack. Lovely backcountry; lady slippers, shinleaf, wood sorrel and patridge berry in bloom. I've wanted to hike this for some time.
